This  Trade Dollar or Token was issued on Manitoulin Island, Ontario in 1972  and was good for $1.00.  This is one of the more expensive trade dollars in the series. These trade dollars are the longest running of any Canadian Trade Dollar Series and were  issued from 1969 to 2008 when the last one was issued. They are highly collected and are becoming difficult to obtain. They are very popular and many have also doubled in value over the last couple of years.  Manitoulin Island is also the largest fresh water lake in the world and a great tourist resort in the summer. The Island is also known as Land of the Haw Berries. This trade dollar has the St. Paul Mission (church) and a map of the Island. It is made of nickel silver.
